New growth from a fig “cutting”.
Having had at the time no absolutely idea how to take a proper cutting, we took an 8 inch shoot that was half old (brown) and half new (green) and had gigantic leaves (suitable for genitalia coverage). Well, it didn’t take long to realize that those leaves wouldn’t last so I snipped them off and was left with a 8 inch long twig. Hmm…
We decided to plop it in some water and hope for the best. After a few days, lo and behold, some white nubby roots are popping out. Two weeks later and a fully formed leaf is exploding into the world, evidence of the life contained within a twig.
